C.A.R.E. Team

TGRC relies on an immensely talented, experienced group of TGRC staff and volunteers to help facilitate grief camps and retreats, affectionately known as our C.A.R.E. Team. Volunteer group and camp facilitators submit a letter of interest, resume, references, and complete a background check before becoming a part of the TGRC CARE Team. C.A.R.E underlies our approach to working with the staff team, professionals, and program participants:

Compassion: positive, caring relationships are the foundation for the program
Attitude: open, positive and flexible
Respect: for self, others, the organization, and the environment
Enthusiasm: a commitment to have fun, enjoy and laugh

Our C.A.R.E. Team members commit to the following:

  • Respecting confidentiality;

  • Being open and cooperative;

  • Using “I” messages;

  • Listening and responding with empathy;

  • Giving and accepting feedback;

  • Supporting programs and program participants;

  • Addressing and moving through challenges in ways that strengthen us as a team instead of undermining; and

  • Strengthening one another through gratitude, respect, and positive humor.

C.A.R.E. Team members often return year after year to TGRC’s grief camps. We welcome new volunteers, and acknowledge that space is often limited. If you are interested in becoming a member of the C.A.R.E. Team, please reach out.
